Bloomington police say the mosque that was the scene of a bombing this past August was damaged again as part of a burglary attempt early Friday.
Police were called to the Dar Al Farooq Islamic Center around 7 a.m. Friday following a report of a burglary there. A release said investigation at the scene showed the building was entered by force overnight. And that once inside, suspects forcibly entered multiple offices.
Police are working with DAF administrators to determine the extent of the property taken.
Authorities said someone threw an explosive device inside the same mosque on Aug. 5, causing extensive damage.
That incident is still being investigated. About a dozen people were inside at the time, but no injuries were reported.
However, the release Friday said police have no evidence suggesting the latest incident is related to the bombing.
A release from CAIR-MN claims security cameras at the mosque captured two men wearing masks and gloves entering the building early Friday morning.
The video is said to show the two men walking around the mosque, breaking windows and entering offices.
The release was accompanied by images of broken windows and other damage to the building.
