Nat’l Quran Competition Concludes in Ahlul Bait Grand Mosque of Basra

The 9th edition of a national Quran memorization and recitation competition titled “Alif Laam Meem” was held in Basra Province of Iraq.

According to Qaaf news agency, "Al-Nur Al-Mubin” Quranic Association affiliated to the Quran Activists Association of Basra organized the competition hosted by Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS) Grand Mosque.

Representatives of 16 Quranic institutes competed in memorization of 10 and 5 Juzes (parts) of Quran and recitation.

It was supervised by Ali Awad and Ali Abdul Hadi, in memorization category and Wail Abdul Ghafour, Alaa Hirz and Qasim Al-Maliki, in Tajweed principles, Sheikh Farouq Al-Hafiz, in Waqf and Ibtida, Heidar Abdul Sattar, in Lahn and Muhammad Nazar, in Sowt.

The closing ceremony of the competition was held with the participation of a number of religious figures and Quran activists of the region.
