According to Hojat-ol-Islam Seyed Mostafa Hosseini, head of the Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization’s Quranic Affairs Center, more than 400 Quran recitation sessions are planned to be organized in different parts of the country during the holy month.
He said prominent Iranian Quran reciters as well as Qaris from Egypt will recite the Quran at the sessions, Mizan news agency reported.
The Quranic programs will be hosted by major mosques and religious sites, he noted.
Last year, too, Egyptian Quranic figures Adil al-Baz, Muhammad Mahmoud al-Mariji, Ahmed Shahat Ahmed Lashin, Ali Mahmoud Al-Shamis, Muhammad Qutb al-Tawil, Abdul Nasser Harak, Muhammad Sharafeddin, and Mutawali Abdulal visited Iran for Quran recitation in Ramadan.
Every year, various Quranic programs are organized all over Iran during the month of Quran.
Ramadan is the ninth month in the Islamic Hijri calendar. This year, it began on Tuesday, June 7.
During Ramadan, Muslims all over the world fast (abstain from foods and drinks) from sunrise to sunset.
They also devote a considerable amount of time during this month to reading and contemplating the Quran.
