5500 mosques of Iran ready to hold I’tikaf

There are more than 5500 mosques all over Iran to hold I’tikaf ceremony and more than 60000 worshipper from Tehran will attend this holy tradition.

The Mosques Studies Center – ‘’About 5500 Iranian mosques are ready to host worshippers for I’tikaf ceremony’’, the Cultural and Social Affairs Deputy of the Center of Supervision on Mosques Affairs reported.

Hojjatul Islam Saeid Karami said: There are also 600 mosques of Tehran Province to hold this holly ceremony which are able to host more than 60000 of I’tikaf worshippers.

Iʿtikāf (Arabic: اعتکاف) is an Islamic practice consisting of a period of retreat in a mosque for a certain number of days in accordance with the believer's own wish.
