Muslims all across the world are observing 23rd Martyrdom Day of Babri Mosque today (Sunday) that was demolished by the Hindu fanatics in India on December 6, 1992 as per directives by BJP.

The mosque located in Ayodhya was devastated by Indian extremists who wanted to turn the mosque into mandir.

The demolition of Muslims’ worship place left more than 2000 people dead in the ensuing riots in many major Indian cities including Mumbai, Delhi and Hyderabad.

It has to be mentioned that Lucknow bench of Allahbad High Court gave the verdict on 30th September 2010 that ran into 10,000 odd pages. The High Court ordered that the land around the disputed site would be divided into three parts, one for Hindus, another for Muslims and the third for Nirmohi Akhara, a Hindu sect, but the peace haters ruined the building despite court’s order.

Mughal Emperor Zaheer-ud-Din Babar constructed the Babri Mosque in 1527 that was a masterpiece of the era but the Hindu extremist leader Lal Kishen Advani along with others started campaign to turn the mosque into Ram Mandir.

Despite the passage of twenty-three years, the Indian authorities failed to punish any culprit behind the incident.

Muslim Majlis has already appealed to Muslim merchants to close their establishments and commemorate the day as Black Day.
