REPRESENTATIVES from four mosques across the town visited Bolton Hospice to present them with close to £4,000.

The cheque for £3927.16 was a result of collections held during Ramadan.

The four mosques that held the collections were Taiyabah Mosque, Noorul Islam Mosque, Usman Mosque and Al-Falah Mosque.

One of the men was involved in the collections was Siraj Patel, who works for Metro Cars.

He heard about the work of the hospice when driving patients and family members to the hospice.

The participating mosques wanted to give something back to the hospice which has cared for many members of the Muslim community across Bolton.

Stephanie Lacaille, community fundraising manager at the hospice said: “We’d like to thank Siraj for helping to organise these local mosque collections, as well as the mosques themselves for agreeing to collect for their local hospice which cares for all people across the Bolton borough.

"Their donation will help local people, with life limiting illnesses, be cared for at the hospice or at home through our Hospice at Home nursing service."

The donation includes £500 from Metro Cars.
