According to the Special Center for Mosque, Hujjatul Islam Saeid Karami, the Cultural Deputy of the Center of Supervision on Mosques Affairs, talked to Fars News Agency near coming the Global Day of Mosque anniversary.
Karami continued his words by describing the history of this day and said: the Islamic Republic of Iran suggested to nominate 21th August as the Global Day of Mosque that minds burning of Al-Aqsa mosque tragedy to us in 1969. in 31rd of the conference of the Islamic Foreign Ministers of the Islamic states of OIC, this article was approved as the Global Week of Mosque. But this date is registered as the Global Day of Mosque in the official calendar of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Thats why we call it globa day and not week.
He continued: nomination of this event contains a message for all of Muslims. Unfotunately, today we are witnessed to destruction of mosques by Takfiri and other foes of Islam when they attack any place. The Zionist regime of Israel exploit about 200 mosques in Gaza Strip in her last year attack and the Takfiri movments as the righteous deputy of Israel do the same in Yemen, Syria and etc these days. There is no diference between Shiite and Sunni mosques to them. The foe is scared from mosque because mosque is the base for awakening and popular movements.
In case of the Islamic Republic of Iran, decedent Imam Khomeini (PBUH) said: the roots of our revolution is laid in mosques. This is mosque which could gather people, inspire insight to them and guide them to the Islamc revolution path. In war between Iran and Iraq also mosques played the most significant role in gathering 97% of popular soldiers. The dignity of the Islamic Regime of Iran also is owe to mosque and participation of people in these holy places. we try to revive the philosophy of this nomination in order to give this message to the Islamic states that there is no way to keep the spirit and lessons of Islam alive except turn to mosque.
